Crab fishing net with bait holder on net
Crab or Lobster fishing hoop nets for the piers or boats wherever it is permitted in your area.
Crab fishing net with bait holder on net
Fishing for Crab and Lobster on the local piers jetties or boats can be a lot of fun but make sure you are allowed to do this in your area before getting yourself in a bind with the local Fish and Game department. These nets are ready to use from your boat or from piers with a bit longer rope which is not included. Simply put your favorite bait or scents in the built in bait holder in center of net and lower away. The bait keeper is designed to hold mackerel cat food cans or whatever else you think may help you get your lobsters or crabs interested. Fishing floats at top of net and end of rope for visibility and to aid in catching you a great fish dinner. Remember it does not take long for a lobser or crab to eat all your bait so check your nets often in case!

Dec 06, 2002JohnathanI have been using crab traps for about 15 years now fishing around my house here in Maine. I have been fishing with home made traps and not hoop nets but have found that the longer you leave the trap in the water the less likely you will find bait on it when you return and perhaps a few crabs or lobsters to boot. Now I typically leave the fishing to my sons who have taught me that if you check your crab or lobster fishing traps every 30 minutes or so versus every few hours you are more likely to find your traps still have some bait in them. It does not take long for crabs or lobsters to pick clean a trap and move on. While I still go out fishing with the boy's it seems the new trap with the bait trap built on the bottom center of the net itself seems to help keep the bait intact longer.
